WORK INVOLVING ELECTRICAL WIRING

Vanscape works on already converted campervans on a regular basis. These vans have not been converted by Vanscape and Vanscape cannot know where conversion wiring has been routed by whoever did convert the van because that wiring is usually hidden from sight.

Vanscape’s years of experience working with campervans means that it is possible to predict where to expect to find wiring, and so great care is always taken to avoid disturbing any existing wires or loom but, in the event that wiring has been routed in an area where it was not expected to be, and this wiring is disturbed or damaged by Vanscape as a result causing an electrical problem despite great care being taken, Vanscape will not be held responsible.

Note regarding pop top roof canvas replacements:

This work involves removing the pop top roof to fit a new canvas. To remove the pop top roof requires the removal of the canvas to van roof securing screws.
All the screws are carefully removed and replaced into the same holes; no new holes are made.

The van’s wiring loom and the conversion wiring should not be routed anywhere near the area where the canvas is secured to the van roof, and so it should not be possible to disturb or damage any wiring. However, it is not possible to check that the wiring is routed correctly because of the structural reinforcement installed by a converter when they fit a pop top roof.

Vanscape has replaced hundreds of canvases over the years, and it is extremely rare for wiring to have been routed in this area and to get damaged, but if it does, Vanscape will not be held responsible because removing the canvas securing screws is unavoidable when removing a pop top roof canvas and it would not have been possible for Vanscape to check for badly routed wiring beforehand.

Note regarding electric pop top retrofit conversions:

Vanscape accepts no responsibility for any injury or damage caused directly or indirectly to persons, belongings, or property during the ownership or use of the Electrically Operated Pop Top retrofit kit fitted by them.

Regarding safe operation – Training is giving and instructions are supplied to the purchaser of the system.

Regarding retrofitting to a van – To fit our electronic pop top lifting system to a van involves drilling some new holes in the van and fitting new bracketry. We may also have to take some things apart and move things around to enable the kit to be fitted.

Great care is always taken when drilling holes in any vehicle and holes are never drilled in locations where wiring is expected to be behind, but there is always a small risk that wiring has been routed poorly by the original converters and could get damaged.
Also, when disassembling anything and reassembling it, there is always a risk that it won’t go back together exactly the same.

Vanscape will always make every effort to avoid damage of any kind occurring and will always try to rectify anything that does happen (on the rare occasion it does), but in the event damage occurs during the fitting process through necessary work needed to complete the job, Vanscape will not be held responsible.

PRODUCT PERFORMANCE & CANVAS DISCLAIMER

Vanscape Southwest Limited

This document outlines the technical characteristics, maintenance requirements, and usage
limitations for pop-top canvases supplied and installed by Vanscape Southwest Limited. By
proceeding with the purchase and installation, the customer acknowledges and accepts these
terms.

1. Nature of Materials
All pop-top canvases (including premium brands such as Reimo) are manufactured from high￾quality technical textiles. These materials are engineered to be water-resistant and breathable to
reduce condensation; they are not 100% waterproof in the same manner as solid structures or
synthetic PVC materials.

2. Weathering & Seasoning Process
New canvases often require a process known as “seasoning” or “weathering.” This involves the
canvas being thoroughly wetted and dried (often multiple times) to allow the natural fibers to swell
and the needle holes in the stitched seams to seal. Minor dampness, misting, or small droplets
during initial use in rain are considered a characteristic of the textile material and do not constitute
a manufacturing fault.

3. Usage & Adverse Weather Limitations

Pop-top roofs are intended for use in fair-to-moderate weather conditions. As a condition of sale and warranty, the customer agrees to the following:

~ The pop-top roof must be lowered and securely fastened during periods of heavy rain, high winds, or driving rain.

~ Canvases are not designed to withstand “driving rain” where wind force may push moisture through the breathable weave or stitched seams.

~ Failure to lower the roof in adverse weather is considered “user-operating error” and any resulting water ingress is not covered under warranty.

4. Specialist Installation & Warranty Claims

~ Verification of Fault: As the installation of a pop-top canvas is a specialist technical task,

Vanscape Southwest Limited reserves the right to physically inspect any vehicle subject to a warranty claim at our UK premises.

~ Third-Party Repairs: We do not authorize third-party repairs, removals, or replacements.

Any attempt by a customer or an unauthorized workshop to tamper with the canvas will void all warranties.

~ Geographic Limitation: Our warranty obligations are strictly limited to our UK workshop.

Vanscape Southwest Limited is not liable for travel costs, vehicle recovery, or accommodation expenses incurred while the vehicle is outside the UK.

5. Manufacturer Assessment
All warranty claims regarding material performance are subject to final inspection by the
manufacturer. If the manufacturer determines the product is performing within factory tolerances for
water resistance, no refund or replacement will be issued.
