Universal Angled Campervan TV Bracket

Description

Our new design of angled universal campervan TV Bracket – designed and produced by Vanscape to allow a VonHaus folding TV bracket to be fitted onto the angled side of a van, allowing you to mount a 16″ flat screen TV keeping the swing out arm level. THIS IS A UNIVERSAL BRACKET AND THE ANGLES OF YOUR VAN MIGHT NOT BE EXACTLY THE SAME, BUT THIS SHOULD COMPENSATE FOR THE ANGLED SIDES OF MOST VANS.

Although this bracket is universal and can be fitted to any van by drilling two 9mm holes and fitting the supplied Rivnuts, or by drilling two 5mm holes and using long flange head rivets (not supplied), the mounting holes would also allow you to fit it to the side wall behind the driver’s seat (B Pillar) of a Volkswagen T5 and T6 without the need to drill new holes.

The folding TV bracket manufacturer states the bracket can accept a 13-27″ TV, but we feel a 16″ TV is the ideal size.

Includes:

  • Specially designed universal fitment angled wall mount bracket
  • VonHaus folding TV bracket with TV mounting hardware
  • 2 x rivnuts
  • 4 x M6 bolts

Universal TV Mounting Bracket

Our new design of angled universal campervan TV Bracket – designed and produced by Vanscape to allow a VonHaus folding TV bracket to be fitted onto the angled side of a van, allowing you to mount a 16″ flat screen TV keeping the swing out arm level.

9mm holes will need to be drilled if fitting using the supplied Rivnuts, or 5mm holes will be needed using 4.8mm flange head rivets (not supplied). If fitting to a Volkswagen T5 or T6 it is usually possible to fit the TV bracket without drilling holes on the B-Pillar (behind the driver’s seat) using the original factory holes for a Kombi door handle, but we have found that sometimes the holes need to be drilled out to make fitting easier.

To fit the bracket you will need the following:

  • 2 x M6 Rivnuts (supplied). These are for mounting the angle shaped bracket to the side of the van. If you didn’t want to use Rivnuts, you can purchase 4.8mm flange head rivets from any good hardware shop and use a standard rivet gun to attached to your van, although we recommend using the Rivnuts for most strength.
  • A rivnut insertion tool (or riveter if using rivets). These can be purchased from most tool shops or online, or if you’re lucky you may have a friend that can lend you one 🙂
  • 2 x M6 bolts to fit the angle shaped bracket to the side of the van (supplied)
  • 2 x M6 bolts to attach the VonHaus TV bracket to the angle shaped bracket (supplied)
  • 4.0mm Allen key to tighten the supplied bolts
  • 9.0mm drill bit for the Rivnuts (5mm drill bit for rivets).

Fitting is straightforward for anybody with the basic required tools and a small amount of DIY skill.

  1. Simply locate the best position for the bracket putting the TV where you want it and levelling the swing out bracket arm as much as possible.
  2. Place a strip of masking tape over the area you want to mount the angled bracket and hold the bracket in position. Then using a pencil or something that fits through the holes, mark the tape where you will want to drill. KEEP IN MIND WHERE ELECTRICAL CABLES, PIPES, OR ANYTHING ELSE IS BEHIND THE AREA TO BE DRILLED.
  3. CAREFULLY drill two 9mm holes and insert the rivnuts into the holes and fix in place with your rivnut tool. If the Rivnuts wont go through the holes easily, you will need to VERY CAREFULLY run your 9.0mm drill through the holes again to open them up enough for the Rivnuts.
  4. Attach and secure your new Vanscape angle shaped bracket to the van wall using the supplied bolts.
  5. Attach and secure your new VonHaus folding TV bracket to Vanscape’s angle shaped bracket using the supplied bolts.
  6. Fit your flat screen TV to your VonHaus TV bracket using the supplied hardware.
  7. That’s it, you’re done!
